Boredom n Hindi movies

Whenever weekend come it's boring in Salem coz we (my roommates) can't go college. I think weekends are for people who work hard in weekdays. But we spend every day has weekend as we have no other major work except doing project work in this semester. So sats n suns are for sleeping, eating, sleeping, roaming, sleeping. (Sunday some extra works - holiday for mess - we have to cook ourselves)

Last Saturday we went to see a movie titled BLACK (Hindi) as we were deprived of good Tamil movies. Actually my first Hindi movie started with LAGGAN so far I would have watched around 6 Hindi movies in theatre.

Now about Black
Black - what an apt title a movie could have which deals with a deaf and blind girl.

A story of a deaf and blind girl's life, her struggle to lead an ordinary life and to get a degree (finaly at the age of 40 she gets it), and her relationship with her teacher were poetically portrayed by the director Bansali.

The scene, which I most liked in that movie, is that kissing scene. The girl asks her age-old teacher to kiss in her lips, as she wants to know what sexual feeling is. A small scene but deep impact in viewer's hearts especially mine.

Even in Salem now a days many Hindi movies are running but many of which are soft porn movies like Sins, Sheesha, Murder...

It happened to see Sheesha few days back. It was a remake of a Tamil movie titled Valee (a super duper hit) with a slight change. In Sheesha twin sisters are behind a guy in Tamil its twin brothers behind a girl. I don't know why they remake the film if they couldn't make it better than the original.

In Sheesha they put their all faith behind Neha Dupia's body than the screenplay. Sheesha is mega worst when compared to the original film Valee.

Dan Brown

I have just finished Dan Browns all the four novels. It all started with the Davinci code. Davinci code (so far 7.5 million copies sold - officially) is the masterpiece of Brown. I think that even for him it is difficult to repeat the result of Davinci.

Here is my rating of all the four novels of brown

Davinci code 9.0/10
Angels n demons 7.5/10
Deception point 6.0/10
Digital fortress 5.5/10

Digital fortress is the least interesting of all Brown’s novels – the story is much on the expected lines.

He has a formula, hero n heroine finds something, a fight between good and evil, at last truth triumphs, fast pace (all novels are of single day events), hero n heroine are safe. After finishing every novel you would feel like that you had watched a good Hollywood thriller.

Soon you would watch Davinci code in screen. It’s going to be a motion picture. (Hollywood is too fast, already they made a movie, National treasure on the lines of Davinci.)

The thing I don’t like in every browns novel (Davinci may be an exception) is too much information, too many events in single day. If you recount all the events after finishing a novel, take an award MEMORY KING, in the name of me. Also the novels had extraordinary events, which may be suitable for movies but not in real life.

A Pirated Life

> Windows XP
> Windows 98
> Various softwares
> Mp3 downloads
> New Tamil movies
> Hollywood movies
> English novels

> Technical books

Wonder what the above list deals with, these are the things I use in my day today life to study, to get entertained etc.,

Everything is pirated, copied, cracked. I know I’m not the only guy who is doing like this in India.

Original winXP costs around 5000/- bucks but the pirated one is available everywhere freely.

If original English novel is available for 250/- in higgin bothams, chennai, the pirated one is for 60/- bucks (90/- in bangalore), just outside higgin bothams in platform ( but you cant find each and every novel in platform except the best selling and the most wanted). Why cant the publishers reduce price and make more profit.

Though some times i feel bad about going pirated, an average middleclass Indian can’t go for more than this. Only few Indian publication’s books are affordable like rupa & co, R.K. Narayans books which costs around 150/-.

These were the thoughts came up in my mind when i was reading a pirated novel in which some 20 pages were missing.(cant get better ).

The Lonely Planet

Suddenly it came to me that my final semester project submission date is nearing. I decided to seek my friend's help who is doing his own project in TITAN industries, Hosur, Tamil Nadu. He is very good in modeling (not FTV kind - its mechanical components). So, I started from salem to hosur.

One day was wasted, as the computer's OS couldn't accept the modeling software, which I took along with me. It's decided not to waste another day, so, I along with my friend planned for a one-day trip to Bangalore which is just 40 kms away from Hosur. It's my second visit to Bangalore after 7 years. The beauty of india - just within 5 kms everything changes form one state to another, languages, people, etc.,

First we landed at Lalbagh Park at 12 noon. One thing was made clear by the fellow countrymen that the park is not for us. Every bench was occupied, every tree shade was occupied, every bush was occupied, everywhere its lovers. They were in their own world, kissing (its French), fondling, and conversing (big doubt - what is there in the world to talk such a long time). We found that we had come to a wrong place. There were some pity lone young visitors wandering aimlessly in the park, thank god, I was along with my friend. I took a vow that hereafter not to put my feet inside lalbagh without a female companion.

Next it was M.G. Road at 4.30 in the evening. We covered length and breadth of it twice to purchase a single cheap T-shirt. But we were not there to buy anything, it was simply for watching colors - nice place to do that. Boarded bus to hosur at 7 pm.

Project yet to be started.

Meet you in NEXT POST
Raveendar.
