If you have already read Da Vinci Code you can find more similarities between that and Deception point like both stories take place in a short span of time i.e in a single day. Both involves a male & female character (hero n heroin) who unravels the truth were chased by a team spearheaded by a villain. Even you can guess the villain in this novel based on Da Vinci

Deception point revolves around the NASA, White House, the president’s election and the US secret services. The opposition candidate senator SEXtons (obviously derived from clinton) popularity shoots up as he takes constant dig at NASA’s overspending budgets. So the NASA desperately needs to prove something. The story starts when the NASA unravels a rare big meteorite buried in the Arctic glacier. The president sends NASA scientists and a team of civilian scientists to confirm its authenticity. But the civilian scientists (hero n heroin) uncover the truth behind it and learned that they were deceived. When they tried to open the secret to public they were chased by secret services to be killed. I don’t wanna reveal the entire story, so stop here.

The main flaw in the novel is the climax as it involves too much technical details of the ship and seas undercurrents. Yet this is one more exciting, believable, unputdownable from Dan Brown. And his research work behind every novel astonishes everybody. Only Dan Brown can nicely do the mixing of real and fictitious things.
