Research in Tamil cinema

Pic shows Simbu and Sandiya in school dress in a forthcoming movie 'vallavan' Posted by Hello

Certainly I am a movie buff, it may (?) change if I go to work. Being away from home that too in a city like Salem entertainment is limited apart from movies. So, I used to watch all type of movies just to pass time, oh! By the way we have plenty of idle time, every college going student knows this.

Now a days many directors are craze to portray their heroin as a school going girl. Many such movies were released in the near past.

Gee – Ajith and Trisha. Trisha is a schoolgirl, who falls in love with Ajith (still college student with his infamous belly) at first sight. There was no requirement in the movie to portray trisha as a schoolgirl.

Raam – Jeeva and kajala. Kajala is a schoolgirl who falls in love with her senior eccentric jeeva who is also her neighbor. Jeeva is doing twelfth and kajala eleventh.

Kaadal – This movie is an exception as it shows the turmoil after a mechanic and a schoolgirl eloped. ( See the earlier post - v’day special )

Iyya – Sarathkumar and Nayantara. Nayatara fails purposely in her last year in school to avoid going college in another town, as she wants to marry the oldie sarath. (Director must be crowned for his thinking).

I don’t know what impact this will have on school students. What do you think???

Raviisms

Though my academic project work to finish my master’s degree didn’t help to improve my knowledge, it did help to learn something in the course.

Ø Being idle (imposed) is much difficult than doing something

It was happened to wait to meet a design head in a concern where I am doing project to get some details. I have waited there for more than 5 hours. Above one is result of this.

Ø If there is no deadline for your project (of any kind) then it wont come to an end.

Ø The personal deadline fixed by you (to finish the project early) will certainly meet the official deadline at any cause. (Looks like Murphy’s law, isn’t it???)

Ø Better believe in YOU than others to finish your work.

Ø If your project is not dear to you then the work done by others for your project will be more than your work.

Bye ;-)

Five Cards

It’s become a habit; no I think its addiction, to play cards after lunch in college canteen. The play may take an hour or more. More than 6 of my classmates (guys who are doing project in college) would sit in a circle to play it in a guy’s room, which is beside the college. The interesting thing is that who gets 200 points first has to buy lemon juice for others –may take around 40 bucks. (Nice to have it in Salem’s climate – if it is from other guy’s pocket) :-)

It’s simple to play where luck plays a major part. Every body will get five cards and each has to reduce their total to a minimum. If you got two cards with same nos or rummy then u can throw those in the middle and take a smaller card. After few rounds if you have points less than 10 and you are sure that nobody is less than your point then you can show. Then every body’s points will be written in paper, yours will be zero. If anybody has fewer points than yours when you show, then everybody’s points will be added and put for you (easy way to reach 200). It has happened many times where a guy will show A (1 point) thinking he is least but there will be another sitting pretty with a joker (0 point) very funny, isn’t it? :-)

After many days i bought a new book – To kill a mocking bird by Harper lee. Planned to read it after finishing project i.e after 20th.

Accident

It’s been many days since I came here. It’s all due to my hectic Project work schedule!!!!.

Today I went to meet my friend who is in chennai to seek some technical help in project work. Some interesting?? thing happened while traveling in MTC bus from Tambaram to Saidapet (18A) in Chennai. I was seated in the middle of the bus. It all went well till we reached pallavaram, suddenly some smoke came from the front side of the bus, immediately the driver stopped the bus and the amount of smoke increased to a level at which we felt difficulty in breathing. So, everybody rushed towards the front and back exits to get outside. I was trapped in the middle, and I tried in vain to get outside by the window. At last I got out of the bus from the front exit. What I saw from outside is the little flame and heavy smoke coming beside drivers seat.

The interesting matter is here. When all the passengers were get out of the bus the conductor simply signed in all the tickets to let us board in other buses. Only the driver fetched (even he is not rushing) some water to quench the flame. Nobody complained anything and all were boarded some other buses (including me) to continue their business. I think this is some common incident in Chennai MTC buses.
