The Alchemist

I like to read novels, but whenever I finish one, I have the feeling of wasting time – I don’t know why. Though it gives the knowledge of new words, people and places around the world, I can’t erase that feeling. So I usually read non-fiction books after finishing one or two fiction. The alchemist is one such book which I enjoyed much.

It is a tale, which makes you to realize your destiny.

The alchemist was written by Paulo cohelo more than a decade back, still it is in the best selling book category (it deserve to be there).

The alchemist is a simple, small, lucid tale of a boy who is a shepherd, in pursue of his destiny. The story moves with the boy as he meets many hurdles on the way before reaching his destiny.

The theme is that everyone has a dream or destiny which life reveals to them in childhood, only a few choose the path to realize his or her destiny others simply let it pass by. Also Paulo says that if you want to accomplish something wholeheartedly the whole world (soul of the world) conspires to help you.

The Alchemist is an allegory, you can find more meaning according to your own perspective. It is not at all a fiction though it is listed in the fiction category. And I feel these types of books are far better than the HOW TO MAKE category self-development books.

meet you in next blog
