Bid adieu to Govt. College of Engg., Salem
Raviism: its difficult to parting with some accustomed – routine things.
At last I have finished my project and successfully (!?) completed viva. My project has taught me many things but not technically .
June 23rd was our last day in college (project viva). As we were (see it become past in a matter of days) doing masters there was not much blah.. blah.. of parting. All were much worried about their future (job, marriage, family etc..) than going out of college. The next day was planned for outing.
After many round table discussions (when we were playing ass) Hogenakkal (in tamil ‘Kaveri’) was finalized for one day outing – just two hours from Salem by road. Where ever I go I will be the one who will initiate or arrange these kinds of things. We arranged one van, there was some 17 guys out of 25, I’m sure even during college days we might not have got this number. It was fun all the way from college to hogenakkal as we were discussing the reason behind everyone’s nicknames. Many has one, some got new ones.
Hogenakkal is a must see place in Tamilnadu. Going in ‘parisal’ in deep waters is a highlight here. I think it is the only place where there is no restriction to take liquor, you can see empty bottles everywhere – many comes for this sole purpose (even in our group). If you don’t eat the fresh fried fish served there for cheap rate, your coming to Hogenakkal is half wasted. If u want to enjoy alone with your group better go in week days like us.
some of the pics taken there
Enjoy
